The Mediterranean Sea offers incredible opportunities to visit absolutely gorgeous islands and historical sites. The Med offers so many great opportunities for sailboat stopovers. Civilization is never far away, and airport access is always possible for those who want or need to join or leave “on the way”.

Our dock is in Olympic Marine. It is located in Lavrio, close to Athens International Airport.
On this first day, we depart from the marina and head to Aegina, in front of Athens.
The temple of Aphaea dates from about 490 BC, it is the oldest surviving temple in Greece.
Leaving Aegina, we sail north west to the entrance of the Corinth Canal.
The canal traffic is open in one direction then close and reopens in the other direction. There can be some waiting time.
Once the Corinth Canal is passed, we sail further northwest to Galaxidi.
Galaxidi is an ancient fishing village on the north shore of the Gulf of Corinth. It is very nice quay side with multiple local cuisine restaurants.
Leaving Nafpaktos, we sail under the Patra bridge and arrive in Ithaque.
Ithaque is the island of Homer and Odyseus, the king of Ithaca and hero of Homer’s epic poem “The Odyssey”.
It is surrounded by crystal clear blue water and covered by pine trees. The port of Vathy is very well protected.
It feels very peaceful.
Weather permitting, we will sail up to Corfou and visit one of the most iconic islands from the Ionian. We may have to stop in Lefkadas to drop some passengers or take new arrivals on board, before we sail across the Adriatic Sea.
